Citrus- and Cilantro-Infused Vodka
“The idea for this infusion came from wanting to give a second life to all the limes we juiced for our key lime pie recipe before they hit the compost bin. So why not punch up neutral vodka with a little bit of citrus and cilantro essence?” — Étienne Marquis, chef
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 ml) vodka
- 1/4 cup (55 g) sugar
- 6 pressed lime halves
- 2 pressed lemon halves
- 10 cilantro stems cut into pieces
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a 2-cup (500 ml) glass jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the vodka and the sugar until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- Add the pressed lime and lemon halves, as well as the pieces of cilantro stems. Seal the jar. Shake well and refrigerate for 24 hours.
- Strain the vodka. Serve the flavoured vodka over ice or add it to one of your favourite cocktails.
