Butterscotch Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) sugar
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) Scotch (whiskey or bourbon)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) water
- 1 cup (250 ml) 35% cream, warm
- 1/4 cup (60ml) butter
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring the sugar, scotch and water to a boil. Cook without stirring until the mixture turns golden brown. Remove from the heat and gradually add the cream, butter and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring until the mixture is smooth. Pour into a bowl and let cool.
- Serve over ice cream or cake.
