Broccoli Stir-Fry

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (125 ml) chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) black bean sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) cold water
  • 4 cups (280 g) broccoli florets, blanched for 1 minute
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) peanut oil
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) fresh ginger, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the broth, sauces and sugar. Set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in the water.
  3. In a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat, stir-fry the broccoli in the sesame oil and peanut oil for 1 minute. Add the garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for 1 minute while stirring. Add the broth mixture and cook for 1 minute. Add the cornstarch mixture and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Transfer the broccoli stir-fry to a serving dish.
