Maple Syrup and Banana Tarts
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 ml) flour
- 3 tablespoons (45 ml) cocoa
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) salt
- 1/3 cup (75 ml) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/3 cup (75 ml) icing sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 cup (250 ml) maple syrup
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) unsalted butter
- 1 ripe banana, puréed until smooth
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dark rum
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) vanilla extract
- 2 bananas, sliced
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the flour, cocoa and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter with the icing sugar. Stir in the egg yolks.
- With a wooden spoon, stir in the dry ingredients gently until the dough is smooth. Shape the dough into 4 balls with your hands. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
