Prosciutto and Strawberry Toasts
Ingredients
- ½ block (125 g) cream cheese, softened
- ½ tsp pink peppercorns, crushed
- ¼ tsp black peppercorns, crushed
- ¾ cup (100 g) fresh strawberries, sliced
- 2 tsp (10 ml) white balsamic vinegar
- 4 slices country bread
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
- 4 thin slices prosciutto
- Basil leaves, to taste
- Honey, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the grill, setting the burners to medium. Oil the grate.
- Meanwhile, in a small food processor, combine the cream cheese with the pink and black peppercorns. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, combine the strawberries with the vinegar. Season with pepper.
- Brush the bread with the oil on both sides. Season with salt and pepper. Grill the bread on the barbecue until nicely marked on both sides. Set aside on a plate.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the grilled bread. Top with the prosciutto and strawberries. Garnish with basil leaves and a drizzle of honey.
