Pear and Raspberry Jam
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 lb (575 g) fresh or frozen raspberries (about 5 cups)
- 1 1/4 lb (575 g) ripe pears, cored and diced (about 4)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) water
- 4 cups (1 litre) sugar
- 1 1/4 lb (575 g) firm pears, cored and diced (about 4)
- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the raspberries, ripe pears and water. Bring to a boil and simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes.
- Add the sugar and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Add the firm pears and lemon juice. Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes or until the jam takes a syrupy texture.
- Pour the jam into jars.
