Ingredients

  • 3 radishes, thinly sliced on a mandoline
  • 3 Lebanese cucumbers, thinly sliced into rounds on a mandoline
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced on a mandoline
  • 3 tbsp (45 ml) rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 6 tbsp (90 ml) mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) sesame oil
  • 8 brioche hot dog buns, warm
  • Curly-leaf lettuce leaves, torn
  • 2 cups (500 ml) shredded Korean-style braised beef, hot or room temperature
  • Roasted sesame seeds, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the radishes, cucumbers and onion with the vinegar and sugar. Let marinate for 10 minutes. Drain before serving.
  2. Meanwhile, in another bowl, combine the mayonnaise and sesame oil. Season lightly with salt.
  3. Spread the mayonnaise mixture over the inside of the hot dog buns. Top with the lettuce. Divide the beef among the buns. Garnish with the marinated vegetables. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve immediately. Serve with fresh vegetable crudité, if desired.
