Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb (675 g) green beans, trimmed and cut into pieces 2-inches (5 cm) long
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) vegetable oil
- 1 lb (450 g) lean ground pork
- 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) low-sodium soy sauce
Instructions
- In a large non-stick skillet over high heat, cook half of the green beans at a time in half (1 tbsp/15 ml) of the oil for 4 minutes or until al dente and nicely browned. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Set aside on a plate.
- In the same skillet over medium-high heat, cook the pork, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until starting to brown. Add the garlic, oyster sauce, brown sugar and ginger. Cook for another 5 minutes while stirring or until the pork is nicely browned. Season generously with pepper.
- Add the green beans and soy sauce to the skillet. Continue to cook while stirring until the soy sauce has been absorbed. Adjust the seasoning.
- Serve the stir-fry in bowls. Serve with rice and store-bought chili oil, if desired.
