Christmas Spices Blackened Tilapia
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons (10 ml) sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) onion salt
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) salt
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) ground pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) Cayenne pepper (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) ground cloves
- 4 tilapia fillets
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) butter, melted
- Lemon wedges
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine all the ingredients. Set aside.
- Place a cast iron skillet on the grill and preheat, setting the burners on
- high (or over high heat on the stove with good ventilation). Allow it to warm up for
- 15 minutes.
