Chicken Tacos
Ingredients
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
- 1 lb (450 g) ground chicken
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp onion salt
- 1 tsp (5 ml) lime juice
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- Tabasco-style sauce, to taste
- 12 taco shells
- 12 large iceberg lettuce leaves, thinly sliced
- 1 cup (100 g) cheddar, grated
- 2 avocados, sliced
- 3/4 cup (130 g) tomato, diced
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) sour cream
- Store-bought salsa
- Cilantro leaves
Instructions
- With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the onion and garlic in the oil. Add the chicken and cook for 5 minutes or until it starts to brown, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Add the remaining ingredients. Season with salt and pepper.
- Meanwhile, place the taco shells on a baking sheet. Heat in the oven for 5 minutes.
