Cheddar and Onion Baguette Sandwiches
Ingredients
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) whole-grain mustard
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) honey
- 1 pinch ground turmeric
- 1 baguette bread
- 1/2 lb (225 g) sharp cheddar cheese, sliced or grated
- 8 slices bacon, cooked crisp
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
Instructions
- In a skillet over low heat, brown the onions in the butter until caramelized, about 10 to 15 minutes. Add the vinegar. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
