Cereal-Crusted French Toast

Got extra cereal in abundance? Use those leftovers as a crust for your breakfast French toast!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup (45 g) cereal of your choice, crushed
  • 2 slices bread, with crust
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar and egg. Set aside.
  2. Spread the crushed cereal out on a plate.
  3. Soak one slice of bread at a time in the egg mixture. Drain and coat in the crushed cereal.
  4. In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, brown the bread on both sides in the butter. Serve immediately.
  5. Delicious with Berry Spread.
