Rhubarb And Apple Jam
Ingredients
- 4 cups (520 g) rhubarb, cut into pieces about 3/4 inch (2 cm) long
- 3 Royal Gala apples, peeled, cored and diced
- 2 cups (420 g) sugar
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) lemon juice
Instructions
- In a pot, combine all of the ingredients. Bring to a boil while stirring often. Simmer for 15 minutes or until the apples are tender.
- Pour into air tight containers or jars.
- To sterilize the jars filled with jam, place them in a pot and cover completely with water. Boil for 10 minutes. The jars of jam will keep for 1 year at room temperature. Unsterilized jars will keep for 1 month in the refrigerator or for 3 months in the freezer.
