Beer-Battered Fried Calamari with Cucumber Sauce
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (80 g) English cucumber, seeded and diced
- 1/4 cup (40 g) red onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, very finely chopped
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) whole-grain mustard
- A few drops of Tabasco-style sauce
- 1 341 ml bottle of pale ale
- 1 1/2 cups (225 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup (35 g) graham cracker crumbs
- 1 lb (450 g) squid
- Peanut, olive or canola oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine all of the ingredients. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
