Apple Crumble Cake
Part cake, part crumble, this delicious apple crumble cake is the ultimate comfort dessert for the fall season.
Ingredients
- ½ cup (50 g) quick-cooking oats
- ¼ cup (40 g) unbleached all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup (55 g) brown sugar
- ¼ cup (55 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cups (360 g) McIntosh apples, peeled or unpeeled, seeded and diced
- ¼ cup (55 g) brown sugar
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) lemon juice
- 1 ¼ cup (190 g) unbleached all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup (160 g) brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- ¼ cup (60 ml) sour cream
- Icing sugar, for dusting
- ¼ cup (60 ml) homemade or store-bought salted butter caramel
Instructions
- With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Butter the sides of an 8-inch (20 cm) springform pan with removable bottom and line the bottom with parchment paper.
