This pan pizza, by Chef Danny St-Pierre from Montreal’s Pan Américain restaurant, is an original recipe because it’s baked in a cake pan. The pizza dough requires some time, as it needs to proof for 24 hours, making for a thick and chewy crust, perfect for adding a French onion soup-inspired topping consisting of onions, white wine, nutmeg and a sachet of onion soup mix and poutine sauce mix. It’s a surprising pizza that’s sure to impress.

Tarte Tatin (The Best)
There are several legends about the creation of this pie. It is said that one of the Tatin sisters forgot the dough and added it during the baking time. In another version, the pie would have fallen out of the oven if it wasn’t served upside down. No matter the real story, this caramelized apple pie always charms us.

Cheese Straw Tarte Soleil
In collaboration with La Famille du lait, these cheese straws will brighten up your snack time. To make them, roll out puff pastry and fill it with grated Quebec Swiss cheese and firm cheese, then cover it with another piece of dough. Then cut strips and twist them. To detach them, simply pull the rays off from the centre. Be watchful for sun strokes!

Air Fryer Bagels
Here’s a bagel recipe that you can cook with your parents during the long holiday. The dough is super easy to work with. You don’t even need a rolling pin. In this case, roll a sausage shape and attach both ends together. Then, just bake the rings in the air fryer and devour what you’ve just cooked with gusto!

Lemon-Pistachio Baked Alaska
For this version of the baked Alaska, make a frozen parfait with lemon curd, which will prevent it from melting too quickly at the table. The genoise cake is soaked in limoncello syrup, which makes it super moist even after being frozen. The recipe may include many steps, but almost all of them can be taken care of up to two weeks in advance. You’ll just have to brown the Italian meringue with a kitchen torch on the day—and cause a sensation.

Chicken and Dill Meatballs
Rolling meatballs in a group is always a good plan. This version using chicken is tender, generous and flavourful. It’s probably because of the dill, lemon and horseradish that season the meatballs. Plus, they’re super convenient on weeknights when you’re ultra busy because you can put them directly into the oven from the freezer. They’re also very versatile, as they can be served as hors d’oeuvres or as a main course with pita bread or pasta. Ready for the meatball chain production?

Pork, Ginger and Cilantro Dumplings
Considering that making a large quantity of dumplings could take an entire day, get people to help you in the kitchen. Choose Chinese raviolis stuffed with chopped napa cabbage and ginger to get a clumpy texture. Add ground pork and a mixture of soy sauce, then call your friends to help assemble them. Once they’re all done, freeze them (in order to cook them later directly from the freezer) or steam them, then brown them in a bit of oil. Above all, congratulate everyone on a job well done!
