Caramelized Onions and Gruyère Cheese Hot Dogs
Ingredients
- 5 to 6 onions, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons (45 ml) butter
- Salt and pepper
- 6 Wienerwurst sausages
- 6 European-style hot dog buns
- Dijon mustard, to taste
- 1 cup (250 ml) grated Gruyère cheese
- 1 cup (500 ml) baby arugula
Instructions
- In a non-stick skillet, caramelize the onions in the butter, about 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
- With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
