Fig and Pear Jam
Ingredients
- 4 ripe but firm pears, peeled, cored and diced
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) dried white figs, diced
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) lemon juice
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) slivered almonds
- 1 to 2,1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon (5 ml) crushed black peppercorns
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer until the pears are translucent and the cooking juices is syrupy. Let cool.
- Serve at room temperature with soft cheeses (triple cream brie, for example).
