Top Sirloin Steaks with Peas and Sweet Potato
Ingredients
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 ½ cups (375 ml) beef broth
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) tomato paste
- 2 tsp (10 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 large sweet potato, peeled and diced
- 1 ½ cups (225 g) frozen green peas, thawed
- 1 tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp brown sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 4 beef top sirloin steaks, 6 oz (170 g) each
- 2 tbsp butter
- Sour cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- In a large non-stick skillet over medium heat, lightly brown the garlic in the butter. Add the broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce and sweet potato. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 8 minutes or until the potato is tender, stirring occasionally.
